Controller

​Our client, a cannabis company in San Francisco, is seeking an experienced Controller to handle all aspects of financial management, accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. Additionally, the Controller will be responsible for developing internal control SOPs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounting department and all functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoicing/billing, general ledger, cost accounting, and payroll
- Oversee the preparation of all budgets, forecasts, and variances
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements within deadlines given by upper management
- Ensure quality control over all financial transactions and reporting
- Enforce compliance with local, state, and federal tax filing regulations
- Develop best practices and SOPs to strengthen the accounting department and internal controls
- Maintain professional contact outside vendors such as CPA firms, auditors, external contractors, etc.
- Miscellaneous duties, as assigned  

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant field
- 5+ years of previous Controller or Accounting leadership experience
- CPA license, preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Superior problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Compensation: $100k-120k/year DOE
